La lectura y escritura creativa como herramientas de análisis y transformación de la vejez

Resumen

La literatura es especialmente importante para las personas mayores, ya que, a través de representaciones literarias, éstas pueden cuestionar estereotipos y tabúes asociados al envejecimiento, así como la continuidad de la creatividad durante la vejez. El análisis y los resultados que se presentan en este trabajo se basan en un taller sobre lectura y escritura creativa organizado dentro del programa “Aula abierta” de la Universitat de Lleida. En las cuatro sesiones del taller se comentaron textos de autores contemporáneos en los que predominaban temas como la sabiduría, la soledad, la enfermedad y la muerte. A partir del análisis de los debates, y de los ejercicios creativos de los participantes, concluimos que la literatura es un medio ideal para reflexionar y debatir sobre la vejez de forma abierta y creativa. Entre las principales conclusiones consideramos que la creatividad continúa activa en la vejez.

Maricel Oró-Piqueras, Universitat de Lleida

Española. Profesora agregada en el Departamento de Inglés y Lingüística (DAL) en la Universitat de Lleida (Pl. Víctor Siurana, 1, 25003). Es licenciada en filología inglesa por la Universitat de Lleida, Bachelor of Arts in English literature with language and linguistics por la University of Roehampton (Londres, UK) y doctora en filología inglesa por la Universidad de Lleida. Sus líneas de investigación versan alrededor de la gerontología literaria y los estudios de envejecimiento, los estudios de género y la literatura contemporánea en lengua inglesa. Sus últimas publicaciones incluyen la edición del volumen Re-Discovering Age(ing). Narratives of Mentorship. Emma Domínguez-Rué, Universitat de Lleida

Española. Es profesora agregada en el Departamento de Inglés y Lingüística (DAL) y coordinadora del grado de Estudios Ingleses en la Universitat de Lleida. Licenciada en filología inglesa en la Universidad de Lleida. Obtuvo el Diploma de Estudios Avanzados y un doctorado en la misma universidad, además de un máster (MA) en literatura inglesa en la Universidad de Swansea (Reino Unido). Su investigación post-doctoral se basa en la interacción entre género y envejecimiento en la novela de detectives. Núria Mina-Riera, Universitat de Lleida

Española. Es profesora asociada en el Departamento de Inglés y Lingüística de la Universitat de Lleida (UdL) y miembro del grupo de investigación Grup Dedal-Lit, perteneciente al mismo departamento. Es licenciada en filología inglesa y el máster en Formación del Profesorado de Secundaria, bachillerato, FP y enseñanza de idiomas en la Universitat de Lleida. Actualmente está finalizando sus estudios de doctorado en Poesía Canadiense Contemporánea escrita en inglés también en la UdL. Sus líneas de investigación principales son la gerontología literaria en lengua inglesa y la relación entre la creación literaria y el envejecimiento; la poesía canadiense contemporánea en lengua inglesa, y la ecocrítica en lengua inglesa. Núria Casado-Gual, Universitat de Lleida

Española. Es profesora agregada en el Departamento de Inglés y Lingüística (DAL) en la Universitat de Lleida del cual es directora en la actualidad. Es licenciada en filología inglesa (1998) y doctora en filología inglesa por la misma universidad (2006). Desde 2013 es la investigadora principal del grupo de investigación Grup Dedal-Lit, dedicado a la gerontología cultural y el estudio de la literatura en lengua inglesa, para el cual ha coordinado dos proyectos competitivos financiados por el Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad del Gobierno de España dedicados a la interacción entre el envejecimiento y la creatividad literaria (2013-2016, ref. FFI2012-37050, y 2016-actualidad, ref. FFI2016-79666-R). Dentro del campo de la gerontología literaria, a la cual ha dedicado su investigación post-doctoral, ha co-editado tres volúmenes de ensayos sobre literatura y vejez (con Maria Vidal en 2004, con Emma Domínguez y Brian Worsfold en 2018, y con Maricel Oró-Piqueras y Emma Domínguez-Rué en 2019), y “Ageing and Romance on the Big Screen: the ‘Silvering Romantic Comedy’ Elsa & Fred” en Ageing & Society, 2019.
